Coca-Cola was invented in Atlanta. It became so popular in the southern states, it was called the "champagne of the south." Multiple cakes experimented with using Coke in the recipe during the 1960's. This recipe is based on the classic Texas Sheath Cake, which uses cocoa, buttermilk, and a poured fudge frosting.

My Experience:

This cakes steps are not difficult, but due to the number of pans needed, the clean up takes a bit more work. This cake looked really weird when it came out of the oven. All of the marshmallows had travelled to the top and melted into blobs. I am not sure if that was supposed to happen or not. It didn't really matter because a thick layer of frosting covers up the odd looking part. The end result was a tasty cake that makes chocolate lovers happy.

Neighbor's comments:

"OMG...seriously this may be my favorite- if that's even possible to have a favorite."

"YUM, so moist and tasty."

"It almost seems airy."
